Respect has a Name
Don’t all of us want some respect for the things we do?
Cambridge Dictionary Online defines “Respect” as “admiration felt or shown for someone or something that you believe has good ideas or qualities in.” You respect your professors in school and your coaches on the field. Do you, at the same time, respect the food court auntie who has just cleaned your table after your meals, and the toilet cleaner uncle who has kept the restrooms hygiene for your use?
How many of us actually thank the food court auntie or uncle who cleaned the tables after our means? Well, I do. A lot of times in life, we seemed to have taken them for granted. We forgot they are great contributors to society alongside the investment market analysts and the professors in schools.
Admit is. It is time to give respect a new name. Broaden the width of your heart.
The next time you visit the food market, thank the person for cleaning up after your meal. I believe, a simple ‘thank you’ will definitely make their efforts worthwhile. Let’s extend our appreciation with simple gestures. There’s no deny in thinking that, they are doing what they are paid to do. Income is nothing but a form of recognition of their efforts.
Recognition is but the tile of the moment. Once the lights on the stage are off, so will the air of recognition, liked expired breath.
