TWO
Those Missing Moments.

There were times when people say things that were silly. I laughed.

There were times when people say things that were intriguing. I reminisced

There were times when people say things that were hurting. I cried.

There were times when people say things that were inspiring. I pondered.

On 19 July 2008, seventeen was the lucky number.

There were seventeen of us at the table reminiscing lost times. The glory we once shared, the tears we once shed. The fun we had, were without boundaries. At the mere age of fourteen, we held the same perceptions within us. The perfect picture we painted remained perfect. I believe, it will always remain perfect.

As we mature, we understood the differences that set us on journeys towards our dreams. Still, we had memories that kept us warm in times of need and kept us sane in times of strain. As though time will make a standstill for us, we spent the night away emptying our hearts of the words we had for one another. That were how we were 9 years ago. And will always be. I believe, it will never be broken.

We played broken message. It only takes one mistake to break the chain. Some of us intentionally broke the message along the line whole others tried our best to save it. That may be broken but the friendship that lived in us will never sway. For we know, it is one thing we will protect. We were chained into one. I believe, we will always be unbroken.

Some things will never change. The affiliations once held will live through time. There were friendships that were blinded and torn apart. The immaturity and shallowness hid the bond that was once treasured but was eventually lost. What have been done cannot be undone. It made us think deeper and grow stronger. Individually. I believe, we will always be one.

Let us relive the school years together, shall we?

Till then.

ONE
Lose is the New Win.

I am not afraid … I was born to do this
– Joan of Arc

I knew a girl who said she hated life and hated to be alive. No, she's not my friend. I read that off her online journal that another friend has handed me. In that same entry, she claimed to have a job that gives her a stable income, has a group of friends that stood by her through the tough and has a family who provides a promising shelter over her head. Really, she is just a pathetic soul. This will be the first and the last I am reading her journal.

I had a friend who loves his life and wished he had more than 24 hours a day. He is an amazing man with a gift for writing. He was brought up in a single parent environment and struggled financially to see himself through his varsity studies. Still, he was thankful that life has given him many opportunities to prove himself to the society. He was labeled the crème of the crop in his cohort. To him, he was not disadvantaged in any means. The challenges only made him stronger.

We often miss the missing the turning points of many things we thought weren't worth the wait. Sometimes, it only takes a little patience to find it waiting in your path. The end of a storm brings the start of a new moment. Don’t they always say that rainbows appear after the rain? Hey, I believe in that. Naïve? Nah-uh. Sometimes with faith, things just fall into place.

In a game of snake and ladder of 4 players, there can only be a winner. The other 3 are deemed the losers. Loser is just another name in the game. The underlying meaning is, “a step away from winning.” Wouldn’t this make the underlying meaning of winner, “a step ahead of losing”?

One fall in life does not equate to bound-to-fall-for-the-rest-of-your-life. Each fall only make us tougher, not something to be ashamed of. It's how you pick yourself up again. So what if we win all the time? We only get to taste the winning glory, momentarily. Be thankful we get the chance to fall in life to learn - never to make the same mistake twice. This learning journey takes time. But how much time can we afford in life? Or, does the society give us enough room to experience the fall?

Strive to succeed but never be disheartened if we don’t. Everyone says that. But hey, to lose is to gain. They open doors to new experiences. And the cycle repeats.

Every minute is worth the live.

Till then.

PROLOGUE
Empty Room

A place to spill my thoughts.
To find my inner self
Be who I really want to be

Set the trapped colours free...
